A weekend with a flavor of fashion. 30 March 2014, Campioned’Italia – Creativity, flair and elegance. These main leitmotifs have granted the enormous success of the first edition of “Campione Fashion Week”, an event organized by the National Chamber of Swiss Fashion (CNMS). Thanks to the entrepreneurship of its president Franco Taranto, it has succeeded in bringing together on the charming shores of Lake Ceresio all the flair and creativity of selected Swiss talents – Manuela Soldati, Fiorenza Rivera, Barbara Marthy, Maria Tschanz-, with Roman stylists Sabrina PersechinoandCarlo Alberto TorrenovarepresentingItalian Haute Couture. The soirée was hosted byErika Gottardi, brilliant director of the magazineWoman & Bride, together with Stefano Dani. THE FASHION SHOW Unique and fancy garments to be used in all occasions. Directly from the Alta Romastage, Sabrina Persechino opened the show with her “green temptation” collection: structured forms, characterized by a sober – but at the same time refined – style, addressed to posh, elegant women. On the other hand, stylist Fiorenza Rivera covered animal rights themes, making through her “Kill Me” collections an appeal not to use violent techniques in seal hunting. The garments paraded on the catwalk are profoundly shocking, with blood traces on them. For the stylist, fashion becomes a “cry, a scream, a call for attention. A way to awaken public opinion and go against barbarian techniques.” Then Maria Tschanz gave vent to a “flower and fruit party” collection with her fancy proposal. Colors were the star of the show, turning each creation into a vitamin injection. Fun and beach life are the core of the collection proposed by Barbara Monty, who brought on the scene jeans made precious with jewels, matched with simple sequined T-shirts with very youthful images, as wellas the daring printings and shapes of the kaftans and of the beachwear matched with refined accessories. Applause and appraisal from the Chamber of Fashion went to Carlo Alberto Terranova, considered to be the worthy and rightful heir of Neapolitan master FaustoSarli. His collection plays with black and whiteand surprising cuts, never losing all due respect for the canons of elegance. The soirée came to an end with Manuela Soldati’s sweetness. She brought on the catwalk aggressive and sexy clothes, made less dramatic by the wish of being unique. The event closed on Sunday 29 March2014 with the Trunk-show “An afternoon at the Atelier”, at the wonderful Swiss Diamond Hotel, which is also the seat of CNMS. “This is further evidence of the excellent work absolved by the National Chamber of Swiss Fashion and by national stylists” – so Franco Taranto, the satisfied CNMS President.
